In our team we strive to provide an extensive skill mix and patient choice of clinician, when available. We also have staff who are able to speak Urdu, Bengali and Punjabi to help our patients for whom English is not their first language. We are also able to provide interpreter services via a phone link. All of our admin team are also trained in CPR are trained and able to be called assist the clinical staff with the most appropriate gender chaperone.
Doctors
Dr Satpal Singh (m)
Qualifications, MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG. Dr Singh is now Senior Partner at the surgery and works every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. He studied at the University of Manchester and graduated in 2005 and since then has worked over East and West Yorkshire as part of his training including Bradford, Leeds and Hull. He has played an active part in helping trainee GP’s in their supervision and assessments. Dr Singh specialises in Diabetes and completed a level 2 Diploma in 2014. He also has an interest in MSK and performs joint injections. As he has completed the DRCOG training, he has additional qualifications in women’s health. |
Dr Jaspreet Saggu (f)
Dr Saggu is a GP Partner working every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. She started out as a pharmacist and then trained to be a Doctor, so has a wealth of expertise to be able to help our patients. Dr Saggu qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2012, and completed her General Practice training as part of the Pennine Training Scheme working in both Kirklees and Calderdale. Mrs Emma Oxberry (f)
Nure Emma is a recent addition to the team and we are delighted to have her experience and skills for our patients. She is qualified to provide long term condition reviews, immunisations and vaccinations, cervical cytology testing, blood and urine testing as well as ECGs, breath tests, travel advice and health promotion advice. |
Mrs Becky Horner (f)
Nurse Becky works at the practice most Thursdays. She is a very experienced, qualified to provide long term condition reviews, immunisations and vaccinations, cervical cytology testing, blood and urine testing as well as ECGs, breath tests, travel advice and health promotion advice and can also prescribe medications. |
Healthcare Assistants
Helen Ecclesby (f)
Helen is our part-time Healthcare Assistant. She is experienced in performing a wide range of diagnostic checks as well as wound care, taking blood samples, giving adult injections, and providing health promotion advice and information. She has been with the practice since 2007. |
Practice Management
Sally Oldbury (f)
The Practice Manager is responsible for the administrative side of the Practice. If you have a concern, a complaint, or a non-medical problem, please ask to see her and she will be happy to help. Sally has been with the Practice since 2007 and has managed us through many changes and improvements over that time. She is also a Dementia Champion and Dignity Champion. Sally is also Communications Lead for our Primary Care Network (Tolson PCN) supporting the patient engagement for Network, as well as a Quality Improvement Trainer for My Health Huddersfield GP Federation. |
Reception
Victoria (f)
Victoria has been with the practice since 2003 and handles our long-term condition invitations and new registrations. You will find her very helpful and efficient and she regularly goes the extra mile for our patients. |
Lesley (f)
Apart from her reception duties, Lesley meticulously cares for the Cervical Smear service administration, our Diabetes register and the PPA and monthly claims. She is our Cancer Champion and has been with the practice since 2006. |
Karen (f)
Karen has fairly recently joined us from another local practice and is a welcome addition to our team. She is an experienced receptionist and our Carers Champion. |
Ella (f)
Ella has been with us for two years now and is our Digital Champion. She has excellent communication skills and arranges our children's immunisation invites. |
Hina (f)
Hina joined the reception team in August and is training as a receptionist. Please be patient with her as she learns where we keep things and the terminology we use in the NHS! Hina can also speak some local languages which may help our patients whose first language is not English. |

Mr Shabaz Maqbool (m)
Shabaz is a clinical pharmacist working from the practice to help patients manage their medications. He can help you with alternatives if you have side effects, show you how to use your inhaler device, support you to reduce pain or addictive medications, and make sure your records are up to date with any information from your specialist at the hospital. Shabaz is not affiliated with, and will not direct you to, any particular pharmacy, that is your choice. Our in-house pharmacists work closely with our GPs to make sure your medication is managed and reviewed appropriately. So if you get a call from Shabaz, please be assured he is part of our team, is working under the authority of the GP Partners, and is a fully trained healthcare professional. |
